Clive Welsh

Clive Welsh was born in Belize City, Belize and moved to Los Angeles, California at an early age. Upon graduating from High School, he attended Los Angeles Junior College where he received an Associates of Arts degree in Radio/ Television/ Film. Television was really his passion but he became disillusioned by it and a greater passion developed when he understood what being a follower of Christ meant when he born-again while attending Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. His availability to the Lord led him to announcing the ‘live' broadcast of the Bible Studies from Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with Pastor Chuck Smith for many years. Upon returning to Belize in the mid-nineties as a missionary to his birth country, Clive noticed the powerful influence of Christian Radio in equipping Christians in the Bible in Belize and sensed that he would be directly involved someday. That day arrived in September 2003 when Lighthouse Christian Radio, then Radio Emmanuel, was ‘dropped into his lap' and he became Director/General Manager.
He has seen first-hand the impact Christian Radio has in reaching the lost and equipping the believers for the work of the ministry. His passion is still one on-one-discipleship which takes up most of his time both on the island and the mainland of Belize and around the globe.

 Elmer Montero

Elmer Montero was born in San Ignacio Town and grew up in a small village know as Bullet Tree Falls in the Cayo District, Belize where he attended primary school.  He was given an opportunity to attend The Cayo Centre for Employment Training (CET) and graduated with honours in Automotive Mechanics and training in Information Technology. With the assistance from one of his brothers he entered high school in 2003 and graduated with honours in 2007as the Salutatorian of the St. Ignatius High School. After several unsuccessful attempts of getting a job, Elmer became disappointed and desperate, and eventually decided to make his way to Ambergris Caye where he worked at Grand Caribe Resort as a construction assistant for several months until he became a skilled mason.  His other job was at St. Peters High School as a part time Information Technology teacher. At the opening of Grand Caribe Resort he was rehired as a landscaper and worked there for eight months. During that time he was hired part time at Lighthouse Christian Radio FM 101.3 and five months later the opportunity was presented to him to become a full time staff at Lighthouse. Elmer decided to quit his landscaping job and learn a new career as a radio announcer for the first time in his life. His computer skill has been a great access to the radio ministry and is a quick and resourceful learner. Currently Elmer is pursuing a degree in Business Management in the evenings and strongly believes that the Lord will give him the opportunity to serve Him as a business man in the future. “Only the Lord knows why things happen the way they do and where we are.”

John Camden Barlow

John Camden Barlow, temporary staff in Operations and Community Outreach. John joined us at the start of 2012 and jumped in to assist us since finding out the need. He trained quickly and picked up very easily assisting in downloading programs, editing, recording and News gathering. He has been a God sent and a great addition to the team at Lighthouse. John also heads up the Bread Ministry, picking up donated bread daily and distributing it to the needy children who come to the Radio Station in the evenings to pick it up.

"I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior over four years ago, December 2007, at the age of eighteen. I suffered from a paralyzing anxiety disorder, in a hopeful cry for help, He reached out and healed me. Last year the Lord prompted my heart to travel to Belize for mission work through a men's bible study. Accompanied by a small community of believers we moved here in response to His call. He has since opened doors for me to serve Him at Lighthouse Christian Radio Station, and the San Pedro Town community through tutoring local students, evangelism, and one-on-one discipleship".

John ends his time of service in Belize at the end of May 2012.
